JR Lara, 67yrs old, went to be with Our Lord on February 23, 2026 surrounded by his family and friends.

JR was born in Brownsville, Texas to Brigido Lara Sr. And Maria Benita Lara in 1971. His parents moved to California living in Oso Flaco and the Nipomo area. JR attended elementary school in Guadalupe and attended High School in Arroyo Grande California. After high school he met his wife Lydia A. Lara at a dance at the Rose Garden Hall in Pismo Beach, California and they married on November 26, 1977 'til the death of Lydia on October 5, 2021. They were married for 44yrs. In their marriage they had two sons, Jose B Lara and Joshua Lara, also he and Lydia helped raise their nephew, Randy Rivera Sr., whom gave them two grandsons, Randy Rivera JR and Elijah Rivera and one granddaughter, Krysta Rivera, that he loved with all his heart.

JR worked for many years in Agriculture, working for Teixeira Farms also with Souza Farms in Santa Maria and Guadalupe areas, and Mcdade in Tucson, Arizona.

JR and Lydia decided to move to Tucson, Arizona in 1996 where they raised their sons. JR enjoyed being a family man, he also loved to ride his motorcycles, he had a sarcastic sense of humor and everybody loved him for it. JR also loved to barb-b-que and enjoy fishing. He always lent a hand to a friend in need, he will be missed.

JR is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia A. Lara; his father, Brigido Lara Solis; and mother, Maria Benita Hernandez Lara.

JR is survived by his only sister, Petra Lara Carvajal from Brownsville, Texas; son, Jose Brigido "JB" Lara of Tucson, Arizona; and son, Joshua Lara of Brownsville, Texas. He is also survived by numerous cousins aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, and his companion of 3yrs MaryCatherine Pino and his Boxer dog, T.

(Message from sons): He wasn't just our Dad, he was a father to many, too many to count. We are honored to have shared our father's soul with others that encountered him. He was a man of strength, courage, wisdom and love. He loved us and our mother Lydia, and anyone who knew him, we are so proud that he also accepted Jesus into his heart.

JR will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
