Cathy Jones Rosen was born on December 30, 1966, in El Paso, Texas, and passed away on February 5, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, and fiercely loyal friend lived a life defined by deep devotion — especially to her children. As many have said, Cathy was truly a force of nature.
Growing up in El Paso, Cathy’s vibrant spirit was evident from an early age. She was a cheerleader at every school she attended — Putnam Elementary, Morehead Junior High, and Coronado High School — embodying enthusiasm, leadership, and unmistakable presence. Her energy and charm were perhaps best showcased when she was named “Little Miss Recreation” for Westside Parks and Recreation, a title that perfectly captured her lifelong love of community and connection.
After attending the University of Arizona — a place that would forever hold her heart — Cathy built a successful professional career, working with KTSM-TV, SWG&M Advertising, and Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals. Yet no professional accomplishment ever rivaled the pride she felt in her family.
For nearly 30 years, she was the adored wife of Dr. Andrew “Drew” Rosen — her partner in friendship, family, and all things University of Arizona. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and Wildcat pride.
Cathy was the proud and devoted mother of three sons — Blake, Braden, and Bryce — who were the absolute center of her world. She celebrated every milestone, cheered louder than anyone at their sporting events, and stood firmly beside them through every challenge. Her love for her boys was boundless, fierce, and unwavering.
Her commitment to her community was evident in the countless hours she dedicated to volunteering at Fruchthendler Elementary School, Esperero Canyon Middle School, and Salpointe Catholic High School. Whether leading fundraising efforts, supporting teachers, serving in leadership roles, or simply showing up with encouragement and kindness, Cathy made a lasting impact on students, families, and staff alike. She gave her time generously and loved her community wholeheartedly.
A staunch and exuberant fan of the Arizona Wildcats, Cathy lived for football Saturdays in the fall, basketball game days in the winter, and baseball in the spring. She proudly wore red and blue, rarely missed a game, and always seemed to have extra tickets to share with family and friends. A proud alumna and lifelong sister of Chi Omega, she cherished the bonds of sisterhood and carried those friendships close to her heart throughout her life.
Cathy was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Carol, to whom she was unimaginably close — a loss that deeply shaped her life. She is survived by her devoted husband, Drew; her three cherished sons, Blake, Braden, and Bryce; her loving father, Jim Jones, and stepmother, Janet Jones; her brother, James “Jimmy” Jones and his wife, Tracy; her nieces, Jenna and Samantha; her nephew-in-law, Dakota; her great-nephew, Jensen; and, of course, more Shih-Tzus than any one person should reasonably have.
A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sands Club at the University of Arizona Stadium, 565 N. Cherry Avenue, Tucson. In true Cathy fashion, guests are encouraged to wear their best University of Arizona attire and please RSVP to Andrew Rosen.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in her honor.
She will be deeply missed, fiercely remembered, and forever loved.
