Daniel Phillip Boots passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 15, 2025, at his residence in Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip James Boots. Dan’s journey began in Flint, Michigan, where he was born to Phillip and Lila (Ackerman) Boots on September 13, 1955. He attended Onekama High School, then Lake Superior State College obtaining a degree in Criminal Justice.
Most of his youth was spent working with his family in their cherry orchard, where he developed a lifelong love of hard work. As an adult, he went on to operate his successful food concession business, traveling across Michigan and Arizona, he had a gift for conversation and made friends effortlessly. Later in life, Dan transitioned to driving a taxi, transporting families with care and kindness. His gentle soul was a defining part of who he was.
Dan’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His mother survives him, Lila Boots, children, and grandchildren, Richard (Jennifer) Boots, Jesse, Jesyka and Jacob, Tiffany Boots (Robert), Syranity and Clarice. Siblings, Debra (Jay) Pennell, Dennis (Jennifer) Boots, Jeffrey Boots (Jo Ellen), Laura (David) Clarke, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life and final interment will be held at a later date.
