Born on August 12, 1968, in Tucson, Daniel remained deeply connected to the city that shaped him and that he, in turn, served with quiet dedication throughout his life.

Daniel was a graduate of Flowing Wells High School and continued his education at Pima Community College in Tucson and at Rio Salado College in Tempe. He carried that steady commitment to growth into his working life, building a reputation as a mason, handyman, and construction worker. He was known as a hard worker, someone who approached his labor with pride and reliability, and whose hands were always ready to repair, build, and improve.

Beyond his work, Daniel expressed himself through creativity and care. He loved drawing and was regarded as a great artist, with a talent that reflected both imagination and patience. He was also a good wood craftsman, shaping useful and beautiful things with skill and attention. In the garden, he found another way to create, and he was known as an exceptional gardener whose efforts brought life and beauty to the spaces around him. He also loved cats, a small but telling reflection of his gentle heart.

Those who knew Daniel will remember him not only for what he made, but for the kind of man he was. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Thomas Tellez as well as his brother, Michael Tellez.

Daniel is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Izzo and Patricia Esquivel; his aunt, Dorothy Tong; his nieces, Michaela Izzo, Madeline Esquivel, and Miranda Esquivel; and his nephews, Nicholas Izzo, Michael Tellez, and Jacob Esquivel. He leaves behind a family who will carry his memory with love and gratitude, remembering the strength of his character, the warmth of his heart, and the many ways he enriched their lives.
