Curtiss Crowder affectionately known as “Curt” to everyone who knew him, passed on to his eternal rest on June 28, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona from heat related illness. He was 60 years old.

Curt was born in Lynwood, California on June 15, 1965 and grew up in Paramount, California.

He enjoyed BMX bike racing, skateboarding and surfing throughout his teenage years and beyond. He attended Paramount High School where he lettered in Varsity Wrestling, graduating in 1983.

After Graduation Curt joined the United States Navy, where he spent four years as a sailor on the east coast on the Nuclear Fast Attack Submarine SS Sea Devil SSN-664 attaining the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class.

Curt is survived by his two sons, William and Christopher Crowder, who were his pride and joy; his mother, Janice Manley; his two younger brothers, Billy Crowder and Michael Manley; six cousins, Damon (Jenny), Paul (Chris), Andy (Betsy), David (Ericka) Graham, Elliott (Monica) Lyle and Eric Lyle and his aunt, Alice Lyle.

Curt is preceded in death by his father, Bill Crowder; step-father, Bill Manley; his maternal grandmother, Ellen Gibson (aka “Nanny” to her 9 Grandsons); his uncle, Hinds Lyle; his uncle, Sonny and aunt, Margaret Graham.

After his Naval service he lived in Yucca Valley, then moved to Rancho Mirage, California where he opened and operated his successful cleaning business with his wife, Ledesa. He made the move to Tucson, Arizona nearly 25 years ago. He loved desert living right up until is untimely passing.

Curt is greatly missed and will never be forgotten by our entire family and his many lifelong friends.

“Rest easy Curt, we love you. You will live in our hearts until we meet again”.
