Gilbert S. Sanchez, a cherished member of the Tucson community, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Born on October 8, 1964, Gilbert lived a life marked by both a quiet demeanor and a deep passion for life’s simpler pleasures.
Throughout his career, Gilbert was known for his dedication to his craft as a tile installer, where he brought creativity and precision to every project. He was appreciated by colleagues and clients alike for his meticulous work and the pride he took in his profession.
A shy person by nature, Gilbert possessed a warmth that drew people to him. He had a profound love for sports, motorcycles, and golf, finding joy in both the thrill of competition and the camaraderie of friends. His real passions were music, and instruments. He would play the drums for fun but loved his rock and roll music. His interests reflected a spirit of adventure and a zest for life that will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.
Gilbert leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Anne Marie Sanchez, his long-time girlfriend, Monica Rivera, as well as many grandchildren who were a source of immense joy in his life. He is also survived by his parents, Joe G. Sanchez and Carmen Sanchez, and his siblings, Ernest, Daniel, and Gabriel Sanchez. Their lives have been forever touched by his presence, and his legacy will continue to live on within them.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Christine Rivera.
As they mourn this profound sadness, they also celebrate the life of a man who brought love, dedication, and a bit of shyness that endeared him to many.
He will be remembered not only for his talents but for the quiet strength and love he shared with those lucky enough to have known him. Gilbert will be dearly missed, but his memory will always remain a part of the hearts of his family and friends.
