Jimmy Don Burruss, Jr.

Jimmy Don Burruss, Jr. died September 22, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born March 11, 1965, in Casa Grande, Arizona to Jimmy Don Burruss and Rebecca Kate Smith. Jimmy was born and raised in Arizona but did spend some time living in Texas, Georgia, and New Mexico.

Jim was a hard worker and picked up various skills in Concrete and Construction. Jimmy loved the outdoors and loved to camp and fish. He also loved to spend time with family and friends. His hobbies included reading books, drawing, bowling, and watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys play on game day.

Jimmy was a Christian and had an abundance of faith and a strong relationship with God. His great sense of humor and big heart worked with his faith to help him triumph over the struggles he faced during his life. The last two years were the happiest for him. In this period, he had found peace and wanted to share that peace with others. He found happiness and was in a constant state of gratitude. Jim believed in paying it forward. Each day he gave back to the community by offering peer support and food and clothing to the homeless and those struggling with addiction.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Don Burruss, Sr. of Greenville, Texas; his mother, Rebecca Kate Smith of Casa Grande, Arizona, and brother, Christopher Shawn Burruss of Greenville, Texas.

Jimmy is survived by his sisters, Deborah Johnson of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Alyson Bell of Casa Grande, Arizona; brother, Michael Burruss of New Boston, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was a light in this world that will be missed dearly.
