Marcia Faith Lev (née Teichman) was born in Chicago on June 26, 1947, the first of Max and Hannah’s four children. When she was 19 she married Allen Lev, and the couple would later have two children: Michael (a sportswriter for the Arizona Daily Star) and Alison (a construction project manager who still lives in Chicago).

Marcia (pronounced “Marsha”) was a loving stay-at-home mom until her mid-30s, when circumstances prompted change: She had to join the workforce to take care of Michael and Alison. She spent over a decade working in retail, communications and public relations while her children went off to college and started their own lives.

Marcia spent many happy days shopping and hanging out with Alison. In 2008, Marcia became a grandmother, affectionally known as “Noni.” Two grandsons would come into her orbit via Michael and his wife, Sarah: Austin and Merrick.

When her health declined in the early 2020s, Marcia moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she could receive the care she needed and see her grandsons on a regular basis. The Lev family would have weekly meals with Marcia – the highlight of her final years. In-N-Out and Portillo’s were among her favorites.

Marcia peacefully passed away on April 5, 2026, while in hospice care. She was preceded in death by Allen, her ex-husband, in October 1994. She is survived by son Michael Lev and daughter Alison Lev; grandsons Austin and Merrick Lev; sisters Hedy Merel and Debbie Schwartz; and brother Craig Teichman.

A celebration of life and scattering of Marcia’s ashes will take place sometime later in spring in her beloved hometown of Chicago.
