Maria del Carmen Sanchez Langer, lovingly known as “Spirit Woman,” “Mom,” “Nana Carmen,” and “Nana with the red hair,” was born on September 2, 1955, in Superior, Arizona and died on April 3, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona.
She was the daughter of Juan and Connie Sanchez. Juan Sanchez preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Sanchez.
Carmen is survived by her cherished children, Angelica Aguilar (Angie) and Adelaida Coney; siblings, Gloria Fishback, Terry Veney, Anna Cowan, and Joe Sanchez; and her mother, Connie.
She was a proud grandmother to Miquiela Leon, Josephina Fitzpatrick, Joseph Fitzpatrick, and Deshawn Coney, and a great-grandmother to Aria Saavardara-Aguilar and Baby Aguilar-Leon.
Carmen will be remembered for her loving spirit, strength, and the deep care she had for her family and friends. Carmen’s spirit lives on through the generations she helped shape, and her memory will continue to be a guiding light for all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
Services will be held at Las Casitas De Los Moya located at 5655 S. White Rock Ave., on April 23rd, 2026 at 9:00am.
