Philip James Tevik, 63, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully after a brief but hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by love and family at home.Philip was born to Karol (Kuhlman) and Wesley Tevik on June 11, 1962, in Duluth, Minnesota. He was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and spent his teen years in Portland, Oregon, before returning to St. Louis. He also lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, while helping care for his mother.
Phil was a committed union roofer and a decades-long member of Roofers Local #2. He spent 35 years working in the industry and built a legacy of hard work and dedication. He was well respected for his talent and work ethic. While he was skilled in all aspects of the trade, slate construction was his passion.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and sitting by the campfire. He appreciated the quiet, beauty and peace he found surrounded by nature.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Karol Huening and Wesley Tevik, and his brothers, Neal and Wesley “Lee” Tevik.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Chris) Duspiwa; grandson, Thomas; and siblings, Michael (Julie) Tevik and Dorothy Tevik-Wood.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Philip’s life on June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at San Pedro Chapel, 5230 E. Fort Lowell Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712.
