Sylvia Sue Holcomb McMullen was born April 15, 1934 in Akron, Ohio. She often joked that she was a tax-day baby. As a child, they moved to Waco, Texas for a short time. They eventually ended up in Ball Ground, Georgia where she lived for the rest of her childhood and where she raised her two daughters.
Sylvia spent most of her working career as an accountant. Her passion though was her mission work with the Tohono O'odham American-Indian tribe after her retirement. In 2007 she was awarded the University of Arizona "It takes a Village " award for her tutoring of native children at the Santa Clara school for several years. She later on ministered at the jail for women in Sells, Arizona on the Tohono reservation.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff Holcomb and Mae Holcomb & her two daughters, Brenda Kay McMullen- Scott & Suzanne McMullen-Storm.
She is survived by many cousins & family members and many, many, many people who loved her.
