They eventually ended up in Ball Ground, Georgia where she lived for the rest of her childhood and where she raised her two daughters.

In 2007 she was awarded the University of Arizona "It takes a Village " award for her tutoring of native children at the Santa Clara school for several years. She later on ministered at the jail for women in Sells, Arizona on the Tohono reservation.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff Holcomb and Mae Holcomb & her two daughters, Brenda Kay McMullen- Scott & Suzanne McMullen-Storm.

She is survived by many cousins & family members and many, many, many people who loved her.
