Tracy Loy Pool was born in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of Susan Loy Pool (deceased) and Ronald Hughes Pool (deceased). Tucson was her home for most of her life, and she loved the desert and its climate, enjoying horseback riding (including barrel racing), tennis, swimming, gardening, and trips to Mexico. Tracy graduated from Sabino High School in 1978 and attended the University of Arizona and Pima Community College. She was a proud cat mom and used PACC's and Humane Society's trap-neuter-release programs to care for the feral cats in her neighborhood, typically sharing her home with four to seven much-loved and spoiled kitties.
Tracy always remembered her family with goofy birthday cards and holiday greetings, and devoted herself to her mother during her mom’s struggle against cancer. She was energetic, vivacious, and fun-loving, familiar with all the best dining spots Tucson had to offer. (Brunch at Casa Mo’s was one of her favorites!) In her later years, she battled with addiction, but she is now finally at peace.
Tracy was a generous soul who cared for those around her (humans, animals, and plants alike), and she chose to continue helping others even in her death. As a registered participant with the Donate Life Registry, Tracy helped advance the cause of saving and healing lives by being a donor. Her family and friends will greatly miss her.
She is survived by her brother, Erik Pool and his wife, Lauren Pool; her niece, Sarah Pool; her Tucson community, and her aunt, Stephanie Johnson, of Seattle, Washington.
